Virginia Business Excellence Consortium - Southeast

The Virginia Business Excellence Consortium â€“ Southeast was formed in January, 2008 by a group of companies in the Richmond and Tidewater areas.  There were 15 founding members of the consortium, which was formed to provide a vehicle to help companies identify and obtain support in implementing advanced business practices to improve processes, operations and worker skill levels in Virginia.  We have grown to 32 member companies as of December 2009. (For current member companies, see the Member List.)

Much of our focus is related to implementation of business improvement processes, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and ISO; however, we are not limited to those.  Other areas of focus have included ways to improve energy savings and environmental impact, change leadership, and workforce development practices.

In tough economic times, one of the most cost-effective ways for companies to get the support and help they need to improve their businesses is through a consortium like VBEC.  Our primary focus is to deliver programs, sharing and learning opportunities that add value to our members’ continuous improvement efforts.  If you are interested in learning more about the benefits of being a member of VBEC and how to join, go to the Membership page.
